Laura and Mark's wedding fell on a beautiful summer's day in Brighton ( the sun shines on the righteous i like to think). Full of love from family and friends. It was both romantic and down to earth. Laura and Mark have been together for years , travelled the world and had many adventures , before finally settling back in Brighton and having their daughter, Lola. Another case of marrying your best friend. The ceremony was held at the elegant "Angel House" on Brighton's sea front , opposite the iconic Brighton Band stand, which we used for the large group shot . After that, everyone was shimmied on to a open top vintage bus and given a mini tour of Hove , before finally settling down for the fabulous curry at Hove and Kingsway Bowls club on the seafront . This was a wedding that made me well up quite a few times . I loved it ..
So after a long hiatus , i am going to attempt to share and blog all the weddings and other work that i have shot over the last year. Apologies for the radio silence for a while !
To get my blogging underway, this is a little sample of my lovely and very talented friend's, Kate Langdale's Brighton wedding. Tim and Kate have been together 16 years already. Kate is a wonderful and creative florist, so i knew the flowers would be stunning, which they were. For all those looking for flowers , go check her out. The wedding itself was intimate, colourful, relaxed and full of love from friends and family. The married at Brighton Town Hall and got their vintage bus with their guests down to the colourful little beach huts for a drinks reception, making a perfect colourful and british seaside backdrop for group shots and portraits. Somehow Kate and Tim also managed to muster up the most amazing light before the heavens opened, which made for one very happy photographer. Their reception was at the "Garden Bar" in Hove, serving up delicious bangers and mash before bouquet throwing and dancing , with music curtesy of Kate's brother . All in all a very lovely family inspired wedding , warmed my cockles it did .
For the month of May, i had an exhibition at Kate Langdale's flower shop in Brighton, exhibiting an editorial shoot i did in there and also some floral still life i shot recently. Kate and i are going to be collaborating in the Autumn and setting up some portrait sessions, using Kate's shop as a backdrop with all her beautiful flowers, and also Kate's exquisite floral curtain to frame the portraits, so stay tuned if you fancy a little session. These are a few of the images i made from one afternoon in there, mostly of a little girl, India. I'm looking forward to shooting again in there , it's such a magical space.
So it rains on the day of your pre-wedding shoot , stay in ! Always nice with a toddler too as everyone's a lot more relaxed and happy at home ...Keep it simple...Often the best .. Looking forward to shooting Clare and Ben's wedding at Angel House, Brighton this June ...
