Laura and Mark's wedding fell on a beautiful summer's day in Brighton ( the sun shines on the righteous i like to think). Full of love from family and friends. It was both romantic and down to earth. Laura and Mark have been together for years , travelled the world and had many adventures , before finally settling back in Brighton and having their daughter, Lola. Another case of marrying your best friend. The ceremony was held at the elegant "Angel House" on Brighton's sea front , opposite the iconic Brighton Band stand, which we used for the large group shot . After that, everyone was shimmied on to a open top vintage bus and given a mini tour of Hove , before finally settling down for the fabulous curry at Hove and Kingsway Bowls club on the seafront . This was a wedding that made me well up quite a few times . I loved it ..
With it's luscious gardens , Bignor Park has got to be a photographer's dream for shooting a wedding. Helen and Aaron's summer wedding was country garden perfect, with food and flowers by the fabulous Petal and Feast who are always brilliant (fun) to work with ...
A beautiful, natural bride and groom, a super shiny spring day, a gem of a piece of sussex countryside , a touching humanist ceremony and a whole lot of love between family and friends, make this one of my favourite weddings. An oldie but a goodie, it had to go on the blog as i would like so many more of these weddings. Feel the love people xx
So it's snowing outside...brrrrr! In stark contrast the wedding that i'm sharing today, Ron and Candy'swedding was on a scorcher of an August day at Herstmonceux castle..No time to think about the heat when i'm shooting, but i just remember that i felt i had too many clothes on that day! I have never shot before at Herstmonceux and i have to admit to being a little nervous as it's such a grand venue. I also had shot the wedding in deepest darkest Wales the day before, so i was also tired, but good old adrenalin kicked in ( and some coffee) and all was grand. I have to thank Luca Sage for second shooting with me, such a large venue so it was needed and also so many details it was good to have an extra pair of eyes. Ron made sure that Candy got here fairytale wedding in her English castle, complete with owls, falcons, horse and carriage, archery, balloons and bubbles - a wedding extravaganza. Watching the falcon fly Candy's wedding ring to Ron was a first!
So it's 2015! I have good feelings about this year. I turn 40 on midsummer's day (nooooo i hear you cry it can't be true!) and my little boy, Otis has started school, so it's time to get my blogging ass into gear this year. i shall be sharing a lot of shoots and weddings that i did in 2014 over the next few weeks as there's a bit of a back log and no one likes that at the start of the year!
Firstly, i am going to share with you the wedding of Amelia and Mark, which took place on a beautiful organic farm in Wales. So beautiful that i'm going back there in the Easter hols to stay with my little man as i didn't have nearly long enough there...such peace! A place to really switch off and be and lord knows we could all do with a little more of that in our lives. This wedding was a joy to shoot and Amelia, Mark and their friends and family were so much fun. I felt like a guest and friend rather than the wedding photographer.
If i ever get married, this is how i would like to do it....surrounded by friends and family in a beautiful natural spot, with a good dollop of love and laughter added into the mix. Perfect.
Got to love the more fallow periods of being a photographer, it allows you to catch your breath, and also get round to doing the things that you've been meaning to do for a long time! One of those things for me is blogging some of the weddings i shot last year. This wedding is of the lovely Emma and Mark Hla, who's wedding was at the beautiful venue, "The Walled Garden" , Cowdray, West Sussex. Emma has now gone on to start her blog "Coco Wedding Venues " , a stylish wedding venue directory - you must take a look if you haven't already done so. Emma has done all the work for brides and grooms to be and sourced some beautiful wedding venues all over England, plus loads of other lovely things on her blog. Grab a cuppa and settle down for a look. Her website and blog have the same look as her wedding - fun and super stylish. Happy Valentines Mark and Emma !
It's almost at the end of summer - didn't it just fly by again? These images are from a recent wedding i have just finished editing of the lovely Nathan and Louise Andrew's. I will post the rest of the wedding very soon.
